August 2006 Dear Friends, Saturn Opposite Neptune - Stand
in the Place Where You Live
Someone else will hold your projection because that is what happens when planets are opposite each other. One person will be unreliable or radical and the other will be exasperated trying to police the situation and make things look good. Losing in this conflict without labeling yourself as a failure or victim can be a fertile place for new vision and direction. You can’t force respect from other people. When you are selfless and have clean motives you naturally do worthwhile things and don’t care if your efforts are noticed or praised. Distract yourself with an engaging activity to relieve your self-absorption, or meditate to restore yourself to a peaceful vibration. Rent the movie Rain Man and listen to Raymond’s (Dustin Hoffman) stream of consciousness to get a compassionate perspective on your inner babble. The news events should be interesting because the combination of Saturn and Neptune are related to petroleum and brought us the Arab Oil Embargo in 1973. Saturn is the symbol for institutions and restriction. Neptune rules the fluids of the planet including oil and the oceans. Saturn cycling with Neptune has also corresponded to major events in the history of Communism. Maybe political authorities with vested interests will be ruthlessly persecuting new ideas. Or, maybe idealistic visionary movements will delude and dissolve the status quo and subvert the structures which are trapping us. Either way, this planetary combination is a denial buster and a humility maker.
The process engaging these planets will repeat February 28, 2007 and June 25, 2007, so it is hard to tell which pass will bring obvious events. Oil-based economies and politics are going to have to erode over many decades. If there is some chaos, think of it as a purifying agent to motivate and speed us into more Earth and people-friendly structures.

There will be lecture, interactive experiences, and brief reading assignments. With my Mercury in Sagittarius, opposite Uranus, there are always random tidbits of juicy astrological lore. Series 1 will be a review of Planetary aspects and Houses of the chart. It will meet 3 Thursday evenings September 21st, 28th and October 5th at my home from 7 pm to 9 pm. The fee is $65. Series 2 will meet for 5 weeks from October 12-November 9. The fee is $115. The class will cover chart integration and interpretation, and prediction methods.
