Dear Friends, Note the second article on Mercury Retrograde, which starts May 26. I will begin a new Women’s Dream Circle on Sunday June 1. Please see the details below. My newsletter now goes to about 1,000 people, thanks to your enthusiasm in sharing it. I am immensely grateful, and I intend that my take on Astrology lightens your life. Love, MARS IN LEO - You want to be important? You got to look important! On Friday May 9, our willful, masculine, enthusiastic planet Mars finally moves into the fiery active expression of Leo. Since last October, Mars has been under Linus’ security blanket as it traversed Cancer, the sign of emotional safety and sentimentality. Now that we have built a foundation of self-care and nurturing connections, we will be free to express ourselves like happy children. Mars in Leo is ardent, creative, romantic and glitzy. A passel of famous irresistible bad boys: Colin Farrell, Sting, Clive Owen and George Clooney have Mars in Leo. And look out for Daniel Radcliffe,(Harry Potter) when he matures into a sexy role. The boy has 5 planets in Leo in the creative sector of his chart. Salma Hyack is a feminine wild-cat with Mars in Leo. Clooney starred with Jennifer Lopez in an entertaining but overlooked movie, “Out of Sight” which was released in 1998. Clooney, as usual, is the bold charming scoundrel bank robber. J.Lo, whose Sun sign is Leo, plays a U.S. Marshall who tangles with him. This movie has some of the best sexual chemistry I have ever seen on-screen and is one of Jennifer’s best acting roles. It is not just the heat. Clooney’s character sincerely falls in love as passionate Mars in Leo is apt to do. I won’t give away the plot. You must rent! Leo is dashing and determined and also sometimes conceited. Clooney’s character Ulysses in “O Brother Where Art Thou” is a hilarious parody of all the attention he gets for his good looks. Ulysses, a sometimes clever, sometimes bumbling Southern hick with a pretense of elegance has a schtick going through the whole movie about his hair, which he slicks with Dapper Dan Pomade. His quest to get his wife back and his rakish charm propel him through this fable based on Homer’s “ The Oddsey”. This Leonine season until July 2 comes around every 2 ½ years. Use it for creative risk that brings you joy. You may just get away with something grand. Guys, get a great haircut and gals, get a Wonderbra and pretend that you are walking down the red carpet at the Oscars on your way to a win! “As soon as we get ourselves cleaned up and we get a little smellum on our hair, why we’re gonna feel 100% better about ourselves and about life in general.” Ulysses Everitt McGill MERCURY RETROGRADES IN GEMINI - May 26 through June 19 O jeez, I hesitate to tell you this. When Mercury goes bass-ackwards in the connection and data exchange sign of Gemini it is perhaps the most annoying of all the possible retrogrades. Your mind will be on vacation, and inept at anything detail oriented. You might as well use it to recall terrible old jokes from the Eighties while you are partying under the Mars in Leo. Maintain your sense of humor through the missed appointments, garbled communications, inexplicable computer troll mischief, keys locked in cars, vacation reservations screwed up, etc. For God’s sake, don’t buy a car even if you get a cherry deal on a Prius. Your mantra should be “Triple-check,Triple-check, Triple check.” NOW, We are all spiritual people who have sought the secrets of the Universe for years, right? How can we pivot and allow this time to serve us. Try the affirmation “Mercury Retrograde always works in my favor.” Say this phrase all during the month of May, ahead of time. The retrograde is a time to disconnect, get in touch with yourself and regroup. If you are judicious about your connections and communications, you may discover that many of them are unnecessary and contribute to your stress. It is an excellent time to release thought forms and concepts that have you overstretched. It is also a good time to realign your connection with the media. What do I really want to know or need to know? You may find that you have time to connect with your body, psyche and soul. These can be a much wiser source of information. As you consider your personal communications, think back to something you experienced in June of 2004. At that time there was a rare astronomy event when Venus eclipsed the Sun and was actually visible as a little dot passing in front of the Sun. Astrologers used our mythical symbolic language to interpret this phenomenon as a balancing time for the feminine to be more prominent in our cultures and consciousness. Pay attention on May 15-16, June 6-8 especially, and then June 30, when Mercury activates this degree of the zodiac. Mercury will bring messages about the Grace that Venus brings into our lives….beauty, love, and peace. Women’s Dream CircleSundays at 5:30 to 7:30 we will meet at Laura's home in Southwest Austin for 6 weeks beginning June 1 through July 6. The investment for the class is $150. |
